Can’t Quit Watching The News
Carl Ellison was writing a song about being unable to quit country music that became not being able to quit the blues for me. The story line for quitting the blues became too “down & out” to develop and at the same time the droning of the news during the 2016 election times took over the media. Everyone was getting hooked on the news and this song started to show up for us. The melody came quickly and the lyrics developed over time.
This song helps me create strong boundaries around how much of today’s “toxic” news I allow into my space.
