Didn’t Do Anything Wrong Blues

This story started with me slipping on some ice I did not see. During the seven stages of guilt and weeks of healing, I wrote this song. It ended up being a metaphor for so much more than just a simple fall on the ice.

Thanks to Sound Engineer Jeff Jones for encouraging me to add the bit of rapping at the end. It felt so good.

  • Didn’t do anything wrong
    Didn’t do anything wrong
Just could have done better all along
    Time to move on
    Didn’t do anything wrong

Went down hard on the ice
Went down hard on the ice
Wrong time, wrong place paid the price
Just a roll of the dice
    Fell down on the ice

    CHORUS
I got the didn’t do anything wrong blues
I got the didn’t do anything wrong blues
I got the didn’t do anything wrong blues
I didn’t do anything I got these blues

Ended up walkin’ with this cane
Ended up walkin’ with this cane
Wondering who or what to blame
For the blues and the pain
Ended up walkin’ with this cane

A victim of my own making
A victim of my own making
All the time my heart aching
    What was I thinking
A victim of my own making

    CHORUS
