Vulnerabilities

I was feeling extremely vulnerable at one point in time and for some reason looked up the definition of vulnerable in a dictionary. Yep, a hardback book with pages to flip. When I got the definition, I read: “a balance of bonuses or penalties.” That immediately became a chorus and the rest of the lyrics flowed from relationship feelings at the time. The music has an island groove to help offset the stress of relationships.

  • A lover’s heart a game of chance
    Hidden reality of romance
At a crossroads, stick out your the neck
Gonna have to make a bet
    Door open to receive
    May lead to broken dreams

    An open heart unconditionally
No weight to bear spirit is free
    Judgment suspended only love exists
    The ultimate game of risk
Everything to gain and to lose
Every moment feels endless and true

    CHORUS
    Subject to receive
    Bonuses or penalties
    It’s the balance of these
    Vulnerabilities

Reach out with a hand to feel
Submit for it to be real
    Hiding behind a stone face
Gone are the dreams that you long for
    In the first place
Fear & random feelings can creep in
    Where love should have been

    CHORUS

    Feel the fire of desire
    Deep embrace hearts that race
Be on the edge of disaster
Only then does it truly matter
    Find rewards deep within
    Dues paid with emotions

    CHORUS
