No Banjo

Carl Ellison brought this song one day and asked me to help him add some bluegrass guitar to the groove. I shared some lyrical ideas as we finalized the song and eventually recorded it at his studio. Oh, did I mentioned that Carl got had just gotten a new puppy at the time… named Banjo ? The rest of the story speaks for itself.

Months later I assembled some road tested bluegrass musicians and went into the studio to record my own version of the song. At the time, we left space in the production to add the four part harmonies for the chorus at another time. However, the session was a good one and turned out this awesome version. I decided to keep it around.
